Allen Dulles: The CIA Director JFK Forced Out | ARCHIVE FILE 006

INTELLIGENCE & SECRECY

S.B.

Allen Dulles helped shape the CIA into a powerful instrument of covert action during the Cold War, overseeing operations in Iran, Guatemala, Cuba, and beyond. After the Bay of Pigs, President John F. Kennedy forced him out as CIA director, yet two years later Dulles was appointed to the Warren Commission investigating Kennedy’s assassination. This Archive File examines that contradiction, the covert operations carried out under his leadership, and what the declassified record reveals about how close he remained to the center of American power.
